About Edward Aldrich
Oil painting
Edward Aldrich lives and works in Colorado depicting wildlife through oil painting, from around the world. He uses several layers of glazing to convey texture and give his colors brilliant depth.
Edward is an artist dedicated to reaching beyond the realistic rendering of wildlife and the natural world. He is convinced that conveying the inherent being of an animal is integral to his work. His style breathes life into his subject and invokes the viewer into feeling that he or she is actually a witness to the scene. “My goal as an artist is to keep exploring the idea of putting life into my paintings."
The son of a National Geographic wildlife photographer, Edward was juried into the Society of Animal Artists soon after graduating from art school. His work is frequently included in their annual exhibition - 'Art and the Animal'. His work is also in the permanent collection at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum having been accepted into their prestigious 'Birds in Art' show on eleven occasions. His paintings have been included in many national shows, as well as twelve one man shows in various galleries.
