About Pat Howard
Watercolor
Pat Howard is a native Colorado artist, known for bright and inviting watercolors, with intriguing contrasts of patterns and textures. She began her pursuit as a full-time painter in the ‘90’s. In addition to solo shows, she has been accepted into national exhibitions, including the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Show in Golden, Colorado, and the Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors in New York. She received first place awards in the 2003 and 2004 Evergreen Art Festival, and was chosen as the Artist of the Year in 2005 by the Durango Area Tourism Office.
“Painting keeps my eyes and my mind open–like opening a window in a stuffy room–making me more aware of the beauty around me.” Pat has studied with individual artists over the years, including Burt Silverman, Kim English, Michael Atkinson, & Jan Kunz. “Making art is a soulful process for all artists–it’s in the mind, in the heart, in the love we put into what we do.”
