While the artist was a boatman in the Grand Canyon he wished to do a piece about the ruins. The Ancient Pueblo people built remarkable dwellings and storage units in the cliff faces. This sculpture shows a man backed up against his dwelling ready to defend their home. His two dogs are underneath him also ready to defend their home. The man is throwing left handed like the artist would and the two dog models are Cruiser and Locksa, the artists pups at the time of this creation.
