New Mexico painter offers instruction during three-day weekend intensive in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, N.M.: February 3, 2016; Sorrel Sky Gallery will host Elements of Landscape Painting with painter Peggy Immel on Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20, 2016 at its downtown Santa Fe gallery. The three-day workshop is open to all ability levels and costs $275.
During this three-day studio workshop, participants will use field studies, photographs and sketches to develop studio landscape paintings. Topics covered include subject choice, composition, values, color and light, linear and atmospheric perspective, edges and paint quality. Immel’s daily demonstrations will be in done using oil paint though other media are welcomed by participants.
Nature and adventure are Immel’s muse: her paintings are inspired by the exotic beauty of the Southwest and her passion for the landscape is enhanced by experiences as an avid hiker, climber, skier, and general outdoor enthusiast.
Immel is a Master Signature Member of the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico and a Signature Member of Plein Air Artists Colorado. She regularly participates in plein air and western art exhibitions across the West. Immel lives and creates in Taos, New Mexico.
