Edward Aldrich’s deep and sophisticated portrayals of animals are collected around the world. Aldrich is dedicated to reaching beyond the realistic rendering of wildlife and the natural world, conveying the inherent being of an animal.

His style invokes the thrill of witnessing a cougar or wolf in the wild. “My goal as an artist is to keep exploring the idea of putting life into my paintings,” Aldrich says.

Aldrich was juried into the Society of Animal Artists soon after graduating from art school. He is now frequently included in their annual exhibition - “Art and the Animal.” Aldrich is also in the permanent collection at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum and is regularly featured into their prestigious “Birds in Art.” His paintings have been included in many national shows, as well as twelve one man shows in various galleries, including Sorrel Sky.

Sorrel Sky Gallery's 3rd Annual Artists Workshop Series is scheduled over weekends to encourage artists to come and stay to the location and enjoy the experience of learning with a master and getting to know the arts community in both Durango and Santa Fe.
