Travel the World with Beads

By Jill Soens

Do you feel like visiting Africa or bringing a little bit of Africa into your life?  Wear a necklace of round turquoise with some pink rock crystals and green African glass beads.

Carol combines her passion for jewelry making, bead collecting and traveling the world with her husband and the results are beautifully balanced, one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art that includes many unique, unusual stones and hand made ceramic beads.

A self reported “Beadaholic” Carol says she is like a slot machine junkie who, if there are beads to look at, cannot leave until she has seen and touched them all.

The shape, texture and color all lead her to put together a design that  is bold, colorful and always includes a surprise, something special, that attracts the eye and makes a statement.

Carol has satisfied her passion for beads by traveling to China, Peru, Ecuador, Australia, New Zealand  and Europe and, if there are beads to find there, she finds them.

This Tibetan Enameled stone necklace contains many surprises:  a round of old turquoise set in a silver bezel, Tibetan enameled pieces, agate slabs and tiny turquoise spacers.

Carol says, “Sometimes it takes only hours, sometimes weeks and sometimes it never does come together.  I want each of my pieces to make a statement, a statement that says 'I’m special and unique'”.

We are so pleased, as are many happy customers, to have Carol’s artwork in our gallery.  Here necklaces do “come together”.
