Possibly completed during Morang's time associating with Santa Fe Transcendental Painting Group, this piece explores concepts of color, space, light, and design; mirroring the group's interest in imaginative realms and in moving beyond the appearances of the physical world.

(1901-1958) Alfred Morang spent his childhood in Maine, learning to paint from the various artists who summered near his home. He studied at Fremond University under Caroll Tyson and Henry Snell. Morang's early career was marked by an artistic restlessness that drove him to create in many medias. While living in Boston in the 1920's, Morang studied art and music, illustrated books and magazines, wrote works of fiction. In 1938 he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and focused primarily on painting.
