I did this one as a throw back to my olden days. When I was growing up, I loved the clutter of messy paint brushes and cans on my dad's and grandfather's work bench. Guess what, I still love paint brushes and cans. And they still get messy.
And someone in the family loved chili, thought it would be a great subject. So I finally painted 'em. It must be my wife Carol's family because my family grew up back east, and when I came along we were commuting from place to place every three years to my dad's Air Force duty stations in Hawaii (yay!), Germany (yay!), Rantoul, IL (not so yay), and Laredo, TX (less yay). Finally, dad retired us in Austin, TX, where I met Carol almost 50 years ago (YAY!!!).
