"This sculpture was originally designed as a proposal for a University that had just
selected this beautiful, endangered cat as their mascot. I selected this pose to express
the characteristics that make the Lynx an appropriate inspiration for the University community as well as a wild animal worthy of our respect and protection: Adventurous, Bold, Active, Clever and Confident. I might add “Adaptive” as this cat is utilizing whatever presents itself as a perch from which to scan its surroundings, in this case a fallen tree, representing the degraded habitat to which it increasingly must adapt"
