“In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear.” – naturalist Henry Beston
Jim Eppler developed an appreciation for nature at a young age. He spent many hours outdoors, observing animals to sketch and paint. He earned his BFA at Texas Tech University, expanding towards three-dimensional representation as a young artist. Always the keen observer, Jim captured on film every aspect of nature.
Jim believes his wildlife art reflects naturalist Henry Beston’s views, “In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear.”
Jim has been featured in the book, “Wildlife Art, 60 Contemporary Masters and Their Work”. He is also an accomplished portrait artist and musician as well, and has been commissioned within the recording industry for portraits of hall of fame recording artists. His public installations include the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Frederik Meijer Gardens, South Plains Wildlife Rehab Center, National Exhibits Foundation, National Ranching Heritage Museum, Booth Museum, West Texas Museum Collection, and the Benson Sculpture Garden, along with numerous private installations.
