Tyler Shields is a fine art photographer whose work lives at the intersection of spectacle, cinema, and cultural mythology. Sotheby's named him "the Andy Warhol of his generation," a designation earned through decades of images that challenge the gaze, disrupt power structures, and push the boundaries of what the photographic medium can hold. His celebrated Mouthful series is among the most recognized works in contemporary photography, and his limited-edition prints, produced in editions of just three per size, remain among the most coveted images on the market.

Before becoming a photographer, Shields was a professional inline skater who competed in the X Games and won the World Championship. That same drive propelled him to become the youngest living artist to appear at Sotheby's. He built his reputation by doing what the industry declared impossible, pulling A-list stars out of studios and into situations that no editorial team would have greenlit, creating images that changed the conversation about what celebrity photography could be.
