Fancy Dancer State 2
(b 1951) Fodor is known for his commanding images of North American Indians. He approaches the creative process under the premise of creating works which maintain an active presence. His focus on Native American imagery is feed by the human need and desire for a connection with prehistoric, primitive and aboriginal cultures.
As the dancer enters the arena every step, every turn, every movement is timed perfectly to the beat of a single drum. Adorned in brightly colored feathers and intricate bead work, the regalia the dancer wears, is as elaborate as it is beautiful. Each outfit and design has both tribal and personal significance to the individual dancer.
