This was photographed at Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary in Lompoc, California. These two young horses were acting goofy and playing around with each other. They were on the top of a small hill, so I positioned myself a little below the hill, looking up, so I could use the sky as the background. Converting to black and white made this image even stronger, and with some contrast and exposure adjustments in the “digital darkroom,” I was able to make the sky completely white.
