The hesitation is understandable. You're standing in front of a painting or sculpture that speaks to you, but the question looms: will it work in your space? Will the scale overwhelm that wall in the study? Will the colors hold their own against the afternoon light in the living room?
Our augmented reality feature lets you place any artwork from our collection directly on your walls, either in real time through your phone's camera or by uploading a photo of your space. Not a rough approximation. Not a scaled-down thumbnail. The actual piece, rendered and positioned precisely where you intend to hang it.
This isn't novelty technology. It's practical decision-making translated into visual proof.
The process takes seconds. Browse our online collection at sorrelsky.com and select any piece that interests you. Look for the "View in Your Room" option available on most artworks.
You have two ways to visualize the artwork in your space:
Use your phone's camera in real-time. Point it at the wall where you're imagining the piece, and the artwork appears instantly, full scale, positioned exactly as it would hang. Move around the room to see how it reads from different angles and distances.
Upload a photo of your space. Do you already have images of the rooms you're considering? Upload them directly and place the artwork digitally onto your walls. This option proves invaluable when you're browsing away from home, coordinating with designers or architects who've sent room photos, or evaluating spaces in properties you're not currently occupying.
The technology can be set to account for perspective and scale. A 48-inch painting displays as 48 inches, not an arbitrary digital placeholder. The colors render accurately. The frame dimensions hold true and proportionate. What you see on your screen is what you'll see on your wall.
Collecting art requires confidence in your vision. You're acquiring pieces that will shape how you experience your spaces, anchoring rooms and defining aesthetic conversations for years.
The ability to upload photos extends the utility of augmented reality beyond spontaneous browsing. Perhaps your designer has sent renderings of the new mountain house. Maybe you're considering multiple walls across different properties and want to compare options side by side. You might be collaborating with a spouse or family member who can't be present but needs to visualize the piece in context.
Upload the photos. Place the artwork. Make informed decisions from anywhere.
We didn't implement augmented reality because it's trendy. We implemented it because serious collectors deserve tools that match the significance of their decisions. Art collecting at this level requires both emotional response and practical consideration. Our AR feature honors both.
The technology is sophisticated enough to be accurate and simple enough to be useful. It doesn't require special apps or complicated calibration. It works on standard smartphones. You can use it live with your camera or with uploaded photos of your spaces. It provides information without overwhelming the actual purpose: helping you build a collection that transforms your relationship with art.
The augmented reality feature offers something rare in art acquisition: the ability to test your instincts before acting on them. That painting you've been considering for months? See it in place. Upload photos of multiple rooms and compare how a single piece reads in different contexts.
