Pine Springs weavings contain horizontal bands interspersed with bands of geometric shapes. They are similar to Wide Ruins rugs but typically contain more green and are more finely woven. Both of these styles grew out of the Chinle designs created by Mary Cabot Wheelwright and Cozy McSparron, a trader in Chinle, Arizona. These weavings featured horizontal bands and bands of rhomboids and chevrons and were made with vegetal dyes.
