WILD ELEGANCE: David Yarrow Anchors Sorrel Sky Gallery’s East Hampton Debut

Sorrel Sky Gallery Brings Photographic Icon David Yarrow to the Hamptons.

April 10, 2025

In a bold move that will reshape the Hamptons' art landscape, Sorrel Sky Gallery announces the opening of its fourth location at 58 Park Place, East Hampton, NY 11938, this May. The arresting photographic works of global sensation David Yarrow will headline the location. The celebrated gallery, known for its discerning eye and distinguished roster of artists, brings its visionary approach to New York's most coveted coastal enclave.

"East Hampton has long been a nexus of art, culture, and sophisticated collecting," says Shanan Campbell, founder of Sorrel Sky Gallery. "Launching with David Yarrow's extraordinary vision allows us to make an unmistakable statement about the caliber of work our collectors can expect from this new space."

Yarrow ranked among Artsy's Top Ten most inquired-about artists globally—in the rarefied company of Warhol, Picasso, and Basquiat—has transcended the boundaries of contemporary photography to create a visual language entirely his own. His meticulous composition, technical mastery, and narrative depth have made him one of the world's most collectible photographers.david yarrow

The Scottish-born photographer, who famously captured the World Cup Final for The London Times at just 20 years old before building a successful career in finance, returned to his artistic roots in 2014. This second chapter has proven remarkably fruitful, propelling Yarrow to the highest echelons of the art world.

"What separates Yarrow from the crowded field of contemporary photographers is his storytelling approach," notes Shanan Campbell. "These aren't simply photographs; they're immersive narratives that require extraordinary patience, vision, and often dangerous proximity to create."

At press time, Yarrow’s recent filming includes an image from the Eiger and Hotel Bellevue des Alpes in Switzerland with David Gandy and Nadine Leopold; images from Willow Springs Raceway with supermodel Cindy Crawford and racing legends Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson; the beautiful Josie Canseco with a black wolf and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad; and an ode to James Bond and he and Yarrow’s home country of Scotland. Yarrow continues to push boundaries while planning ambitious new works, extending the storytelling power demonstrated in his recent releases.

The gallery's opening in mid-May offers collectors and the curious alike an intimate first look at Yarrow's monumental works in a setting designed to showcase their dramatic scale and emotional resonance. The space reflects Sorrel Sky's signature approach: sophisticated yet welcoming, museum-quality yet deeply personal.

Sorrel Sky's expansion eastward marks a significant milestone in the gallery's evolution, joining established locations in Durango, Santa Fe, and SoHo. Each venue maintains the gallery's commitment to fostering meaningful relationships between artists and collectors—an ethos that aligns perfectly with Yarrow's approach to his subjects, whether wildlife in their natural habitats or collaborations with figures like Cindy Crawford, Brooks Nader, and Cara Delevingne.

"There's a reason David connects so powerfully with his subjects and, subsequently, with viewers," explains Campbell. "As Cindy Crawford famously said, he 'had her at hello.' That authenticity translates directly into the emotional impact of his work."

The East Hampton location will present a carefully curated selection of Yarrow's most compelling recent works, including several pieces making their public debut. The gallery opening provides the Hamptons community with early access to these highly sought-after limited editions before they reach the broader market.

A formal grand opening celebration featuring David Yarrow will be announced in early summer 2025.
