Photograph on Canvas with Floater Frame
edition of 10, 50" x 54"
This is a Lusitano stallion that I photographed in southern France in 2013. His natural color is referred to as “Cremello”, and he is one of very few stallions left of a particular bloodline that was used in bullfighting for centuries. The owner is breeding the horses to help keep the bloodline from going completely extinct. I photographed this stallion while he was running in a large field. I positioned myself so that a tall row of trees in shadow was my background. I carefully made the background completely black to bring out the power and spirit of this noble horse.
