Photograph, Edition of 10, 36" x 52"
Photographed in southern France near Montpellier at a private farm that breeds Andalusian horses. This was in a big field and when they all started running around in a herd of about 25 mares, they kicked up a lot of dust, and one got the impression that they were in the middle of a big storm.
“I feel my work is an homage to the equine spirit and to the archetypal role they play in our lives. This is why I always photograph them without riders, saddles, bits, bridles or any other device that would interfere with their pure essence.” - Tony Stromberg
