Thunder

“Thunder” is an image I shot in southern France in 2017, near Montpellier. I visited a private breeder of Lusitano horse (originating in Portugal). The owner loves the Lusitano breed, and he decided to turn out all of his mares into a big open area to let them run around and kick up dust. All mares, not one single male horse. They loved being able to be out in the open, and they ran and ran and ran and ran. I’ll never get timed of the sound of dozens of hooves thundering. It’s magical.
